Germany Threatens To Halt Submarine Sale to Israel
October 31, 2011 @ 8:44 am
Germany is threatening to stop the delivery of a "Dolphin" submarine to Israel in protest over the country's settlement policies. Government sources confirmed the development when asked by SPIEGEL following speculation last week in the Israeli media that Germany might halt the sale.
The move is in response to the recent decision by the Israeli government to approve the construction of 1,100 homes in Gilo, an Arab part of Jerusalem captured from Jordan in the 1967 Six Day War. The Israeli government considers the area to be a Jewish suburb, but the international community contests that description.
The threat by German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been the subject of considerable concern in Israel.

Following is my comment on the above/SR:
Does anyone think the German politicians will have the guts to carry through with this threat?
Suspected Israeli gov't response to German Chancellor Angela Merkel:
"What's that Ms Merkel? You are not going to deliver that nuclear capable sub you promised because of our theft of Palestinian land for our illegal settlements? Why that's too bad. We were only going to use the sub to patrol the Mediterranean in order to intercept fundamentalist Muslim terrorists trying to infiltrate Europe in fishing boats. Did you know that the Mossad has found out they have plans to set off a terror nuke in a European city? If we don't get that submarine and one of those evil "terrorists" gets through with a suitcase nuke or dirty bomb, it will be too bad if it gets set off in Berlin or Hamburg or Cologne. Could be lots of German casualties as a result, and oy vey, don't even think of the expense to your German economy in these troublesome economic times just as your taxpayers are being asked to bail out a bankrupt Greece."
