Dubai debt fears rattle global markets

Stock markets in Europe were rattled as the attempt by Dubai to delay payments on its debt risked precipitating the largest sovereign default in almost a decade.
Stock markets in the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy were all down about 3pc in early afternoon trading as investors retreated from riskier assets.
